First stop: Tweed Valley

So much excitement to finally hit the road. The feeling we had driving out with the Sunshine Coast in our rear view mirror was insane! Especially when you don’t know when you’ll be back.

Our first stop was northern NSW in the Tweed Valley. We started our travels during the Christmas school holidays so we knew that things were going to be expensive, hot and busy! We found ourselves a Hipcamp called Tweed Valley Farmhouse Cheese in a place in the Tweed Valley called Burringbar. Beautiful place. So green and fresh. The camp itself was a bit how ya going just behind the farmhouse car park which was quite busy during the days so easy to get parked in but we managed just fine. The kids enjoyed watching the cows and colouring in. It was a very nice place to start our journey. The rain didn’t spare us though so we had our fair share during our stay.

While we were here we went for a visit to see Tiaki’s Aunty Sue, went and got some treats from the Brunswick Bakery (yum) and went to Crystal Castle. It was so nice to see Aunty Sue ❤️ had a couple of cuppas and the boys wreaked havoc in her front yard and hassled Miso. Crystal castle was amazing, such an incredible experience it would be insane to own that kind of place the views are to die for, the energy is calm and it’s just such a beautiful place. Some of those amethyst geodes were beyond the scale of what I had expected and the bamboo forest was special.

We decided not to hang around too long and head off to Yamba after a few days. But since we were staying at the cheese factory we did indulge in a cheese platter and ice creams 😍🫶🏽

Bye Byron Region ✌🏽
